• 19 years of experience in the management of Norway's largest research institute in marine research, monitoring and advisory

• 13 years of experience as a lecturer and supervisor in the field of aquaculture of marine fish at the Norwegian Veterinary College in the position of Professor

• 10 years of experience as Head of the Norwegian Fisheries Forum (www.fiskerifagligforum.no), which includes Norwegian universities, research institutions and NGOs in Norwegian aquaculture assistance

• 11 years of experience from the European Marine Board Policy Organization (www.marineboard.eu/), which works with research strategy in Europe. 2014-2017 Vice Chair in ExCom

• 10 years of experience in organizing projects and capacity building in other countries

• 9 years of experience as coordinator for two major EU projects involving 120 researchers from 36 partners (universities and research institutions in Europe)

• 3 years of experience as a consultant for the multinational company Exxon in connection with the Exxon Valdez accident in Alaska (1989)
